About Me
Hello, I am Mary and thanks for stopping by to check out my site. Whether out of curiosity or a need for change in your life, I’m happy you’re here. FC Wellness Company Ltd was created so I can share my purpose and passion with you! After stumbling upon a serious health issue during a regular physical check up I became incredibly passionate about understanding food, – how it is grown, how it is produced, it's nutritional benefits, it's healing and health properties, the effects of what we eat and don't eat on our health and determined to find better choices for the overly processed and sugar laden options that have become common in the North American diet. I believe that food is medicine and that everything we eat, think and do affects our health and happiness. My mission is to educate, inspire, motivate and support people to eat well and live well! "Fostering Change; Food, Mind & Body" for a better, healthier you,
I am a graduate from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition based in New York City as a Certified Integrative Health & Wellness Coach. Integrative Nutrition® has been the cutting edge leader in holistic nutrition education and is the largest nutrition school in the world. The school teaches over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and is led by top experts in the field of health and wellness including Dr. Joel Fuhrman, Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Neal Barnard, Joe Cross, Dr. David Katz, Dr. John Douillard, Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. Deepak Chopra, and David Wolfe among many others. I am also a registered yoga teacher focusing on proper alignment, flow yoga, spiritually-oriented yoga, gentle yoga and speciality yoga, receiving my RYT200 from Joyful Yoga in Bonita Springs, Florida. I am also trained and certified in Lakshmi Voelker Chair Yoga and studied Restorative Yoga under Judith Hanson Lasater .
Prior to embarking on my career in Health & Lifestyle Coaching and Yoga, I spent 15 years administrating, managing and educating patients in our chiropractic practice. I received my B.A. in Sociology at the University of Windsor and my B.Ed., Adult Education from Brock University in St. Catherine's, Ontario. I have completed workshops on Primordial Sound Meditation and Ayurveda as well as continuously participate in various integrative nutrition health courses and conferences.
My philosophy on nutrition is bio-individuality, there is no one size fits all. I don't follow any specific diet, but do include a lot of raw foods, organic fruits and vegetables, seeds, nuts, organic chicken and grass fed beef as well as blend and juice. I have chosen to eliminate dairy, grains, gluten and refined sugars from my nutritional options for many reasons. I journal, practice yoga and mediation daily and follow a fitness routine regularly.
My journey has taught me a lot about busy, demanding and at times stressful lives, the importance of nutrition as well as "primary food" or self nurturing for health and happiness to succeed in life and work. The information that I share is not only from my education and research but also a part of my own personal health and wellness journey. I have experienced the benefits of making small daily mind, body and spirit changes that not only changed the way I looked at food and wellness but also changed my life.
